It's a ball of blooms. A flower Ball.
People want to touch it. Pick it up. It's just fun.
Kermit and Berry Ball
Snow Ball
There is just no other way to describe these,
but as hanging balls! They are mini balls
and look great hanging above a dining table.
Giving one is a great hostess gift too!
Making the ball.
Receiving a ball. See. She loves it! This one in particular is frosty
and whimsical and sends a shiver when you see it close.
Like a snowball from your childhood.
And, the Kissing Ball.
We sell these in place of the traditional evergreen wreath.

Labor Day Weekend Weddings
I cannot tell you how many times I hear, "Are people still getting married these days?"
Yes! E v e r y o n e is getting married, it seems! This weekend, Stems flowered 9 brides.
Each were special and unique. I loved them all.
Penny was a Big Ring girl. No hand-held traditional bouquet for her. Loved it!
And, loved her style. Check out that dress.

Orchid Shots |
The Bistro tables had two lovely orchids in tall shot glasses. Only, the wind was with
us today.and sometimes we need a little support from nature.
We sent the guys on a rock hunt and I think it added a nice touch.
A bit about the Blue Bom Dendrobium orchid, which we fondly call them
"Tie Dye Orchids" @ Stems.
"Tie Dye Orchids" @ Stems.
They are exotic and opulent, and make a breathtaking sight at your wedding or special event.
Our grower in Thailand takes a purple orchid and enhances the color just a bit with blue dye,
creating a smashing intense color.
Love to Penny and Jeff!

Just Married
The Highland Haven award winning bed and breakfast is located on the creek in Evergreen.
It is the place to honeymoon when having your wedding in Evergreen.
This is also a wonderful venue for a small and cozy wedding.
Staying at The Highland Haven is a treat to a romantic celebration in the beautiful, wooded setting. Offering a variety of luxuries, opt for the champagne, chocolate and flower romance package, ready in your room upon arrival. Breakfast is fresh and recipes from my personal favorite cookbook, Colorado Cravings by the owner, Gail Riley. Romance is their specialty.

Mothers Day Peony
Peony.
This was my Mother's Day gift to myself.
They were all the same color and have been opening and changing
colors every day. They are now the size of a dinner plate.

Prom Flowers April 24, 2010
Alyssa got the full package. Handheld bouquet, flower ring and hairpiece.
This is how we assemble the corsages. Line them up
on the "corsage bar" and make four at a time. Its a
tedious, sticky, messy procedure, but, the outcome
is worth it.

We had several schools with proms this weekend, to keep them organized,
each school had a different colored box.
These two decided to meet at Stems to pick up their flowers
before they headed out for the evening.
A few bouts.

A N E M O N E
Anemone.
This just might be my favorite cut flower.
Comes from the Greek word , "windflower", the petals close in the dark and the cool,
and opens with the light and the warmth. It is said that the anemone
sprang from Aphrodite's tears as she mourned the death of her lover, Adonis.
sprang from Aphrodite's tears as she mourned the death of her lover, Adonis.
Represents anticipation.
Rightly so, as when these flowers open, I feel a fresh flirt with spring.
